No frills dining, fast, efficient service and reasonably priced. You can also order take away on the spot and theyre pretty quick. Only serves sweet cold drinks prepacked and sealed in tons of plastic packaging my only peeve.. why no ice Chinese tea?!? Tend to cater for the dinner and late supper crowd so parking is ok late at night but dinner time parking can be a challenge.. ”

This nofrills joint is popular with locals looking for a satisfying meal without breaking the bank. As you arrived, the sizzling sound and aroma of noodles cooking in the wok greets you instantly. The cook is continuously frying up fresh batches of Hokkien mee, each made to order. Just go for the signature Hokkien mee topped with pork slices, prawns, leafy green. The first few bites instantly evoke the noodles have that perfect wok hei, imparting a smoky flavor. The thick yellow noodles and skillfully fried to an ideal texture, retaining a slight bounce with no clumping. The pork lends a savory edge, while plump prawns add a sweet freshness. Its a complex medley of tastes and textures in one bowl. For those who want a bit of heat, you can request for sambal to amp up the spice factor but its a must try. The food speaks for itself. “ If youve done Starling Mall and happen to crave something delectably sinful, consider leaving the comfort of the mall for Tiong Hokkien Mee. This humble street side eatery may use makeshift furniture and lack airconditioning but its boldly traditional menu more than makes up for it. The Hokkien Mee is a musthave. Abundant with wokhei and containing hardly any MSG, the soft, neutral noodles, brought together by generous lashings of fragrant lard and caremelised sauces, provided the perfect landscape for the protein and greens to shine. The same could be said for their Yee Mee although, on hindsight, we could have ordered their Cantonese Kway Teow for variety in flavour and texture. Less successful was their fried rice, which lacked the wokhei and personality of the noodles dishes. We ordered stirfried baby Kailan and deepfried lobak but deepfried chicken wings take the cake for the complex umami afforded by the fermented bean curd seasoning. We spent RM 144 for a party of six, drinks included. For a smorgasbord of local delights, how could I not give it a top rating? ”

Apart from hokkien noodles, they also offer other signature dishes e.g. wa tan hor, pork rice hoodles, fish cake, and chicken wings. It has been my favorite hokkien noodle restaurant for more than 10 years. ”
